  • to verify members and prevent fake profiles, fraud and abuse;
  • to enable interests, chat, calls, shortlists, blocks and contact unlocks;

We rely on your consent and on the need to provide the Service you asked for. You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account, although this may stop us from providing the Service.

4. Who can see your data

  • Other members: your profile (name shown as first name and last initial, age, photos, location, education, occupation, family and other profile details) is visible to other members once your video verification is approved. Some details, such as your photos, family and lifestyle details, may be blurred for members without a paid plan. Your phone number is shown only to members who unlock it with a paid plan or credits, or as you permit. Blocked members cannot see you.
  • Mediators: approved mediators may see member profiles in order to assist with matches, under their agreement with us.
  • Our team: authorised administrators and verification reviewers can view profiles, videos and documents to review and moderate.
  • Service providers: companies that help us run the Service, such as cloud hosting and storage (for example AWS), SMS and OTP delivery, push notifications (Google Firebase), payment providers (Razorpay, PayU), analytics and customer support tools. They may use the data only to provide their service to us.
  • Legal and safety: we may disclose data where required by law, a court or a government authority, or to protect the rights, safety or property of members, the public or Amajodi.
  • Business transfer: if Amajodi is merged, acquired or restructured, your data may transfer to the new owner, who must follow this Policy.

We do not sell your personal data.

5. Sensitive information

Your profile includes personal information such as religion, caste, marital status, income, family details, photos and verification video or documents. You choose what to provide, but some of it is needed for matrimonial matching. Verification videos and identity documents are used only for verification, safety and fraud prevention, are visible only to authorised staff, and are not shown to other members.

6. Your photos, chats and messages

Photos and videos are stored with our cloud storage provider. Chat messages are stored so that you can see your conversations. We may review reported messages or content to investigate abuse. Please do not share passwords, OTPs or bank details in chat.

7. Notifications

With your permission we send push notifications and SMS about interests, matches, chats, verification and your account. You can switch off push notifications in your phone settings. Essential account and security messages, such as OTPs, will still be sent.

8. How long we keep your data

  • Your profile and activity data are kept while your account is active.
  • When you delete your account, we permanently delete your profile, photos, videos, chats, interests, shortlists and related personal data from our active systems. Backups are overwritten in the normal course within a reasonable period.
  • We may keep limited information that the law requires or that we need for tax and accounting (such as order and payment records), fraud prevention, dispute handling and enforcing our Terms, for as long as needed for those purposes.
  • Deleted accounts lose all active plans, credits and purchase history in the app.

9. Your rights and choices

You can:

  • view and edit most of your profile information in the app (My Profile);
  • control who can see what through the settings and blocking features;
  • ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to correct or complete it;
  • withdraw consent and delete your account from Settings, after OTP verification;
  • complain to us (see section 12) and, if unresolved, to the Data Protection Board of India once it is operational.

To exercise a right that is not available in the app, contact us as described in section 12. We may need to verify your identity first.

10. Security

We use reasonable safeguards such as encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, token-based authentication and restricted staff access. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please protect your device and never share your OTP. If we become aware of a data breach affecting you, we will inform you and the authorities as the law requires.
